Designing

Why add a ship to the show in the first place? How was it explained to you?

Was there as creative brief, and if so, what did it say?

Who was the creative director and how did their vision impact the final design?

Who were the approver(s)/ who was the final approver?

What was the design process like?

Where multiple people assigned to work on the design or only you?

Are you 100% happy with the ship design as we know it today? (if it ended being ‘design by committee’ then I could imagine you might not love it.)

Did interior set considerations create any limitations on the exterior design?

What assets were needed to hand off for the physical filming model to be built?

Does the builder of the physical model do any modifications to your approved designs before construction? If so do you collaborate on them?

Your design was first seen in the episode ‘The Search’, both as a physical filming model and as a CG model (docked at the station). VisionArt created that first CG model, did you work with them at all on that CG model?

There are marker illustrations of the bridge being in the nose, did you create those?
